3M 07521 Scotch-BriteVery Fine Abrasive Roll (8 in) is a non-woven synthetic abrasive for surface scuffing, intercoat adhesion promotion, and pre-paint surface conditioning in automotive refinishing. Gray Ultra Fine grade is used for final scuffing of sealers and light surface prep immediately before clearcoat applicationminimal scratch depth while still promoting adhesion.
Non-woven construction conforms to curved panels and body lines that conventional sandpaper bridges over, ensuring complete, consistent scuff coverage. Unlike sandpaper, Scotch-Brite pads don’t load rapidly and continue cutting through contamination and surface oxidation throughout the pad’s life. Roll format allows cutting to any length for custom-sized piecesideal for large-area scuffing and production-line applications.
